A paper clipping (16 October 1917) from the Cahiers des éphémérides of the Bishop's Palace gives us informations on the organ of the new cathedral.

« This week, the Casavant Brothers, renown organ builders from St-Hyacinthe, will begin installing the organ. The instrument has thirty stops, two manuals, an electro-pneumatic system and a separate console. It contains a few stops from the organ of the old cathedral. One will no doubt recognize and appreciate their distinctive (typical) voice, skilfully sustained and amplified by adding several series of new pipes. »

« The installation was delayed for several months on account of a high humidity index in the Pauline chapel. Recent observations by Father X.-S. Gosselin, from the Seminary, showed normal hydrometric values. The cost of the organ is $6,300.00. »
